Dr. Stephen Parazin is a former Chief of Spine Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital. He has been a member of the NEBH medical staff since 1998 and is currently a staff spine surgeon. He specializes in complex surgery of the neck and back, including revision surgery and cases involving adult scoliosis and deformity. He also performs minimally-invasive micro surgeries and sees patients with the following conditions: herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal cord compression, myelopathy, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal fractures and tumors of the spine.

Dr. Stephen Parazin is a former Chief of Spine Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital. He has been a member of the NEBH medical staff since 1998 and is currently a staff spine surgeon. He specializes in complex surgery of the neck and back, including revision surgery and cases involving adult scoliosis and deformity. He also performs minimally-invasive micro surgeries and sees patients with the following conditions: herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal cord compression, myelopathy, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal fractures and tumors of the spine.

In 2011, Dr. Parazin was named to US News & World Report’s prestigious annual Top Doctors list. He was accorded the same honor when he was recognized by Boston magazine as one of the area’s finest orthopaedic surgeons in both 2010 and 2011.Dr. Parazin has also been honored six years in a row by his patients with a Patient’s Choice recognition award, an honor reflecting the difference he has made in people’s lives. Of the nation’s 720,000 physicians, less than five-percent are accorded this honor. He has received the award each year since 2008.

In addition to his surgical duties, Dr. Parazin is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the North American Spine Society, the AMA and Massachusetts Medical Society. He is active on several hospital committees, including contracts and finance, infection control, and operating room products evaluation.

An expert in spine surgery, Dr. Parazin lectures extensively both nationally and internationally, and is also on staff at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Bermuda where he regularly performs spinal surgery.
